Guide for Authors

Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the uniform requirements for Manuscript's Submission to "The International Interdisciplinary Journal of Art ".

 

  • Submitted articles must not have been published in any publication before nor be under consideration elsewhere.
  • The manuscript should include an abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology, research body covering the results, endnotes, and references. The total should not exceed 14 pages of the Journal.
  • The abstract should be about 350 words in English. The abstract of the article should include the statement of the problem, purpose, research method, article topics and important findings and results. This section should alone express the entire article and especially the results obtained.
  • The “introduction” should point to the research questions, objectives and a general overview of the paper.
  • Literature review is essential and required for all papers. Title of books, papers, theses, research proposals, publication dates and names of periodicals, supervisors of theses/ dissertations and the universities must also be named. After the literature review, the research method should be written.
  • The “results” section should succinctly and logically clear out the research findings
  • The guidance and contributions of others can by acknowledged briefly in a separate section.
  • The endnotes should be numbered and included before the references.
  • All images must be submitted with a printable high quality 300 dpi resolution, numbered sequentially and with reference to the sources and explanations below the images.
  • Image numbers must be included in the text. The acceptable file format is JPG.
  • All tables and charts must be numbered sequentially, and arranged with their descriptions and references above them. Their numbers must be included in the text.

Manuscripts should be structured as follows:

  • Article title
  • Authors’ names and full affiliation details for publication, including an email address for correspondence. The correspondent author must be clearly indicated.
  • Abstract – 350 words maximum
  • Keywords – 4-6 keywords.
  • Text (including tables) - 10000 words maximum (including ALL affiliations, tables, captions, acknowledgements and references). Manuscripts that greatly exceed this will be critically reviewed with respect to length
  • Acknowledgements
  • References. The submitted manuscripts must follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA), sixth edition.
  • Figure captions
  • Citations and References to the Sources:
  • For in-text citation (author’s last name, publication year, page number).
  • References (must be provided alphabetically).
  • For books: author’s last name, author’s first name, publication year, title of the book, translator’s or editor’s name, publication place, publisher.
  • For papers: author’s last name, author’s first name, title of the paper, title of the periodical, periodical issue number, volume or year, page(s).
  • Electronic sources: author’s last name, author’s first name, publication year, title of the article, title of electronic source or website, date of the last revision, URL or electronic address.

You will need to fill in two forms (author agreement and conflict of interest form, copyrights form), sign and upload their scanned images (as PDF) on the journal site upon your submission. You can download them here: IIJA Forms.

Conditions for Submission of Papers

  1. Papers must only be submitted to http://iija.journal.art.ac.ir/
  2. Authors must register their full information including their academic rank, institution or workplace or the university where they have enrolled, residential address and phone number (landline and cell phone) as well as email address.
  3. Paper must not exceed 14 one-sided pages (including all data, images, charts, tables and maps), 32 lines in each page in 12 point Times New Roman font and 2.5-cm margins in standard A4 paper (210mm by 297mm). It must be submitted as Microsoft Word Document and PDF file.
  4. It is required to submit a similarity score of 20% and below by i Thenticate. For this purpose, you must go to www.gigalib.org and register and receive the similarity certificate and be uploaded to the website of  the journal.

Similarity checking is used to prevent plagiarism. The editor is responsible for deciding and accepting articles, as well as assigning the article to referees. Authors are also required to submit two MS Word files. The first one includes the following: manuscript title, author name(s), affiliation, department, e-mail address, and phone number (office or cell phone). In case of a multiple authored manuscript, the order of the authors and also the corresponding author must be designated. The second file includes no cover page or author affiliation, but it contains English abstracts, keywords alongside the main body of the article.
